Though it will be breaking the law and those people who support the Hindraf rally today will be penalised for the charge of contempt of Court, but P Uthayakumar assured that the memorandum will be delivered to the British High Commission peacefully. Yesterday, three key Hindraf leaders – Uthayakumar, P Waythamoorthy and V Ganabatirau – were arrested on sedition charges by the Shah Alam police. Following that, more than 2,000 supporters had then gathered at the Klang Sessions Court, where the three were charged, to show support.
“We intend to hand in our memorandum and go home peacefully,” said P Uthayakumar, prime mover of Hindraf. Some 10000 supporters were originally reported to gather and witness the handing of a petition to the British High Commission at Jalan Ampang in Kuala Lumpur.
As usual, Malaysian Police has again denied the permit for the gathering for the same reason of national security and also managed to get a very rare Court Order to restrain people from participating the rally. Regarding the rally today morning please surf B.Mahendran site for further info. (lots of info’s)
And.. I also read this funny news along the road. Just because of Lim Kit Siang came to a gathering of Hindraf supporters at Shah Alam, now Hindraf has become a stooge of the opposition party according to MIC information chief M Saravanan! Wahh.. a veteran M.P of Malaysia can’t even go and address the problem that cause the gathering of people there? Hmmm.. Susah jugak yer!
It sounds like an extremely bizarre action on the part of HINDRAF but after closer inspection, there is a purpose.
Delivering a memo to the government would be a completely pointless exercise, and they need to get international attention.
Hence, all these stupid actions by the government like roadblocks and checks are useless!! It’s impossible to stop every single Indian from going into the city.
Instead the police and government just want to irritate the shit out of every citizen so they will think twice about protesting.
Even now, I hear there is a terrible jam on the road. It’s all pointless! Just allow the protestors to get to the British High Commission and they will disperse quite quickly instead of causing such chaos.

Yeap! Agree with you. I’m really thinking for myself what’s the fuss with all those antics of roadblocks and restrictions.People just want to pass a memo to British Govt. Why is the panic actually?
