Dear Y.B. Dato’ Haji Ahmad Husni bin Mohamad Hanadzlah,
PLEASE VOTE AGAINST AMENDMENT OF BILL TO EXTEND THE RETIREMENT AGE OF EC MEMBERS TO 66
I am a resident in your constituency and would like to channel my view as a citizen through you as the MP representing my constituency.
I understand there will be a debate on a constitutional amendment to extend the retirement age of the Election Commision chairman.
As a concern citizen, I would like to express my protest against this move as there are no plausible reasons for this. Why are we amending an important document, our constitution, just to retain one person in service. I do not see any reason for the increase of age justification, and changing the law just prior to the forthcoming General Elections.
I shall be looking forward to your vote against the amendment bill in the coming days.
It is necessary that you represent my view in Parliament. Other constituents and myself will check the Hansard to make sure that if you are speaking during the second and third reading of the bill, you will speak in our interests and against the bill.
Yang Berhormat, you are representing us and not the party. We want to retain an MP who will stand up for what is right and true and this will determine how we will vote in the coming General Elections.
Your constituent,
Thank you,
Mofie Augustine
Yes I did this, and will post first thing in the morning. How about you guys? Please read about it further in The People’s Parliament. In the site there is also a section where you can view all those letters that had been sent out to various M.P’s around. Feel free to check it out too!
ciao!
